..Welcome to Everyday Superbikes

September

Well its October already so the days will be getting shorter and cooler. However the first weekend of October has been the warmest on record for Britain, so we had to take advantage of this and get a ride in.
I wanted the ride to include a visit to the cafe over at Crossgates in Wales as it might be a while until I get chance to taste their incredibly nice coffee, so looked for somewhere to go in that area. I spotted a road that I had been part way along when I was a lorry/truck driver a few years ago.
The A483 from Newtown to Crossgates. From google maps the road looked quite twisty and runs along the edge of the river Ithon and the surrounding hills. The stretch of road is 23 miles long and has hardly any straights and only a couple of villages with 30mph speed limits.

We arrived at the cafe with smiles across our faces and wondered why and how we had never come across this road before, especially as we have been to the cafe  200 metres along from the junction a lot of times. Its a definate road that will be straight into the hall of fame. (Once ive got time to write it!)

During September Col and I went to test a road that one of the bike magazines had recommended, best known as,The A40 Breacon to Llandovery. The day we went wasn't the warmest of days and from Bewdley service station we didnt see a roadside cafe for a warming cuppa for 70 miles! Once we got onto the recommended section of the A40, we were left rather disappointed with it, it was not quite as good as the magazine made it sound. There was a lot of traffic on the road, the bends were just average bends and the good bit only lasted about 5 minutes. We turned off at Llandovery and joined the A483 heading towards Builth wells and then we found the saving grace of the ride. As you head along the A483 just after Cynghordy you start to see the mountains up ahead, there is some nice left and right flowing corners a nice place to stop and look at the views from the top of the hill and then lots of nice corners for miles along to Llandidrod Wells. We are looking forward to riding this when its a warm day as we were considering going to a shop to buy an extra jumper at one point!

Jon has been testing some new positions with his bike cam, so far we have had a clip of some nifty foot work from a very low position on the rear of the swingarm. I think it may have some potential and appear in our next film.

Fantasy league

The last transfer window has closed and the team managers have made their final choices for the 2011 season. Rich has started the final round still in 1st place and 90 points ahead of the next team. As most of the teams are looking very similar I cant see him being caught, but it aint over till the last of the riders cross the line in Spain.

Bike Racing News

We were pleased to see that all the Motogp riders went to Japan, 6 out of 7 people agreed that they should have gone.
There are lots of rumours of riders changing teams, to see who going where and who has a ride and who hasn't i recommend you look at crash.net they have all the stories.
